사업내용 | Nature-based solutions (NBS) is considered as one of the methods of Resource-Oriented Sanitation to overcome the challenge of current common sanitation systems. Nowadays, the solution is not sustainable because of using too much water for flushing, complicated infrastructures, lack of social responsibility. Therefore, NBS systems give access to resolve the issues above and TORR1 is one of NBS systems. In TORRY 1 system, urine and feces are separated by using the urine tank-in series reactor. Feces is mixed with bio-seed and sawdust and on-site treatment to be utilized as fertilizer and soil conditioner. Laboratory studies show that treating feces or urine by adding nitrifying microorganism bio-seeds can reduce the required retention time, die-off pathogen, and control odor. Field studies on cultivating white radish using treated urine and feces resulted in lager products with higher water and sugar contents. Economic analysis shows that the benefits can be received after 7 to 10 years. Thus, such approach can be useful toward 6th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG6), to reduce diseases, saving water, reduce wastewater from bathroom, recovery nutrient from extract human, make fertilizer/soil conditioner and use and/or sell it. |
